Matthew B. Owen, Attorney
Matt is a native of Springfield, Missouri, earning his Undergraduate Degree from Missouri State University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Tulsa, College of Law. While in law school Matt was the Chapter Chair for the American Bar Association Law Student Division Chapter and he also was one of two non-faculty members of the Academic Status and Affairs Committee representing his fellow law students.
In 2004, after working as a trial attorney for the Missouri State Public Defender, Matt was hired as an associate, and later named a partner, with a long standing law practice in Ozark, Missouri. Matt has maintained his own independent law practice since 2008 remaining in Ozark and serving clients in the surrounding counties.
Also during his time in private practice Matt has served as President, Vice President of Management and Chapter Legal Counsel for the Springfield Jaycees as well as Assistant Legal Counsel to the Missouri State Jaycees. In the fall of 2012 Matt was appointed as the Municipal Judge for the City of Sparta, Missouri and in 2013 when the Christian County Bar Association was incorporated he was appointed to the Board of Directors. Most recently, Matt was appointed the Municipal Judge for the City of Clever, Missouri in September of 2016.
